The Four Seasons Experience
Harold Koplar, the founder of the Lodge of Four Seasons, had a vision to create an unequaled experience in a remote land that would bring enjoyment to people of all ages. The 3,500-acre community of Four Seasons USA in the Midwest’s Lake of the Ozarks emerged in 1964. Since that time, the Four Seasons experience that HK began has grown, developing through a family tradition of entrepreneurship, hospitality, and entertainment. In July 2007 – more than 40 years after HK opened the Lodge of Four Seasons – HK’s daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Peter Brown Sr., grandsons and great-grandchildren celebrated the opening of a new Four Seasons era: Avila at the Lodge, a new resort condominium hotel.
Located at the Lodge’s former 9-hole short game course, Avila is the first phase of an extensive plan for development and growth for the Lodge of Four Seasons. Other plans include various enhancements and upgrades to the resort’s landscaping and recreational areas. Four Seasons Homes serves as general contractor for Avila, working in conjunction with the developer, the Lodge of Four Seasons.
